Description of LifeSong78′
The VLYD team has designed the LifeSong78′ to withstand the pressures of crossing and being surrounded by ice. This makes the LifeSong a major asset for cruising in the Arctic and Antarctic. Its robust design and high-quality construction ensure stable, safe sailing, even in the most extreme conditions.
LifeSong Sailing, experts in polar excursions, entrusted us with the design of the LifeSong78′. Designed specifically to cope with extreme environments, this is the only vessel capable of sailing safely in these conditions. Thanks to its experience in southern navigation, this company will accompany you throughout your adventure.
Comfort and welcome
On board, the LifeSong78′ offers 7 cabins: 4 forward for passengers, 2 aft for the crew, and an additional cabin for a crew member. Each passenger cabin has its own shower room, providing a warm and comfortable space after a day’s exploration.
Cutting-edge design and engineering
This yacht is distinguished by its advanced engineering, guaranteeing safety and comfort. Its hull, deck and superstructure are made of aluminium alloy, offering exceptional resistance to ice impact.
An ‘ice belt’ also reinforces the structure locally, improving its durability. To ensure better performance in extreme conditions, strategic areas of the ship have been fitted with thermal insulation. Plumbing and machinery are specially designed to prevent freezing.
In short, we followed precise technical specifications to adapt this yacht to its future environment.
Rigging and manoeuvring
The boat is also fully rigged, including a mainsail, a yankee and a staysail, for optimum manoeuvrability. This equipment ensures optimum manoeuvrability. Its carbon mast, set into the bottom of the hull, enhances performance. What’s more, all rigging manoeuvres are centralised in the cockpit, in protected chutes to prevent ice forming. Finally, two powerful engines facilitate manoeuvrability, eliminating the need for fragile thrusters in icy areas.
A promising future
Construction of the LSS78′ will begin in November 2024 at the Bord à Bord shipyard, promising a vessel at the cutting edge of naval technology.
